I’m a bit behind on posting these! My life has been consumed by the studio remodel here lately!
Here’s my picture for week three…yes, my boy is wearing the pink pettiskirt! LOL! He watched Rachel twirl and twirl while she was getting her pictures taken & he wanted a turn…and he wanted a photo, too! He may kill me for this someday, but it is technically his own fault!
Millie and Rachel jumped in the pic as well…such sweet friends!
Another Mason besides mine had a birthday recently! Happy Birthday little man!!! We opted to do oreos instead of a cake for his photos since his mommy said he didn’t really love his birthday cake at his party. Food is a great way to keep a one year old sitting still! haha!!
I can’t get over just how cute & sweet he is!! He has the perfect little cheeks (which look even better with oreos all over them!) and has a smile that melts your heart! My Mason loved making little Mason smile! He thought is was really cool that another boy had the same name as him!
Ready to ooh and ahh over pure sweetness? Keep scrolling!!

Thanks for choosing Across the Miles Photography for Mason’s one year photos!!!
January 25, 2010 - 11:23 am - These are great Kellie :) I love the mess that even oreos can make, he he
January 25, 2010 - 4:26 pm - You weren't kidding. He sure is a handsome little guy. Well done on the pictures. As always, you are amazing at what you do!!
My not-so little Mason turned 5 years old on Tuesday. How in the world does time pass so quickly? It seems like not too long ago that I gave birth to two of the most beautiful little boys in the entire world! I am so very proud of my sweet boy & looking at him, it’s hard to believe he was once just 3 lbs 7 oz! God has truly blessed me with getting to be the mommy of my sweet boys. I definitely shed several tears on Tuesday. 5 years was a rough one to hit & not have Miles with us. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about Miles & what could have been.
We started his birthday by going to the party store for them to choose balloons for Miles. Mason picked Transformers & Millie choose pink with white dots. We then went to the grave, sang Happy Birthday to Mason & Miles, and then the four of us let go of our balloons. Mason chased after it screaming “We love you Miles!!!!!” Definitely was choking back the tears at that point!
We then headed to DQ for lunch & let them play in the play place (thank goodness for disinfectant!) Then, we came home for naps & then opened presents. Mason LOVED his Razor 360 & we had to go test it out in the school parking lot. It is so much fun! I even gave it a spin!
We then jumped in the car & headed to Springfield to Chuck E Cheese. The pizza was blech, but the kids had so much fun playing the games & earning tickets! We then headed over to Toys R Us 15 minutes before they closed & Mason got to spend some birthday money. He definitely thinks that being 5 is the greatest thing ever!!
Here’s a picture of the birthday boy…and it’s my project 52 photo of the week!

And…here’s a little video that I put together of Mason’s first 5 years…I love this little guy!!!!
Happy 5th Birthday Mason & Miles!!!

Last year as the business grew, I found myself taking less photos of my own family. I really wanted to start a project 365 (one photo a day), but I knew that would be rather ambitious! I opted for doing the project 52…one photo a week that I’ll share on my blog!
I actually meant to post this photo last week, but I’ve been crazy busy doing the studio remodel & went out of town for a photography convention…so I’ll be posting two this week!
This photo of Millie just speaks to my heart. I know it isn’t the most amazing photo ever…but to me it speaks volumes! She is such a little girl & loves all things girlie…especially princesses! She wanted me to take a photo of her princess…but when I see this photo, I see my own little princess and just how quickly she’s growing. This little princess has me wrapped around her little fingers (with the nail polish chipping off and all!)

January 18, 2010 - 6:02 pm - It's gorgeous! Hope you had fun at your convention. Can't wait to see your studio remodel.
January 19, 2010 - 4:56 am - What a SWEET picture!
January 19, 2010 - 8:58 am - So sweet!!! I have 3 princesses of my own so I know what you mean :) She's adorable!

January 20, 2010 - 10:27 am - She is a little princess and what a great picture.
January 21, 2010 - 5:04 pm - Love this photo! Good for you for doing a 52 with family shots! She is so cute.
January 22, 2010 - 9:10 am - Too cute! My little princess has that same princess, but ours lives in the bathtub!
I took a little trip to my hometown of Bethalto to take some photos of some friends. I grew up with Leah…I’ve known her since 2nd grade. She was definitely the girl at church that I looked up to. I wanted her hair cut, clothes, and thought she had the coolest toys at her house. After spending a few hours with her last week…I look up to her as a mommy, too!
She truly adores her 3 children & is such a hands on mom. (and, she likes M names, too! I have Mason, Miles, and Millie…she has Madelyn, Meredith, and Miles!)
Thanks, Leah, for letting me take your adorable family’s photos!

Karyn was my last senior of 2009. I can’t believe how quick this fall went by! Karyn chose the Rock Garden at Nelson Park as the place for her photos…and there were still a few leaves!
The leaves/colors coordinated perfectly with her outfits. Karyn has such amazing eyes & I love how these turned out!! Thanks, Karyn, for choosing me for your senior photos!!

I took the Clark Family photos last Christmas in their home in front of their tree. This year, we planned on doing them outdoors, but got crummy weather. So, we decided to do their photos in my new studio!
(And…I wanted to try out my new zebra print loveseat! Isn’t it fun?!?) I LOVED what they all wore & how these turned out…even if a certain little Mister decided not to smile (again) for the family photos! There’s always next year! haha!!

And this last picture may go down as my favorite family photo yet! Too funny!!!

I remember when Kari asked me over two and a half years ago to take their family photos. She followed my blog & my addiction to scrapbooking and asked if I would give doing their family photos a try. It was the very first time anyone had ever paid me to take photos. It’s amazing to see where it has all led since then!!
And speaking of amazing…they were blessed with an unexpected little bundle of joy this year! Heath is sooooo sweet & so loved by his big sisters!
