I have no idea how to actually blog about our trip! We did so many things and shared such amazing experiences that I truly don’t know how to put it all in words. I guess I’ll just go day by day & hit the high points! 🙂 I apologize in advance if I get wordy…or if I share a ton of pictures! Oh…and in an effort to truly be on vacation & take a break from work I used my point and shoot or my DSLR in auto mode! LOL!!! I wanted to not make our vacation one big photography session & just wanted to get lots of snapshots! It was such a great break for me…and I think my family enjoyed it, too! (even though Millie is programmed to pose as soon as the camera comes out of the bag. I have created a monster!)
Mason & Millie were both so excited for Disney. After we watched the Disney vacation DVD numerous times, watched a Disney movie a day for two weeks, and read the Disney vacation planning book, the kids were more than ready!! We packed our bags & headed to the Bloomington airport on Sunday morning. We had a nonstop flight & were set to arrive in Orlando around 2:00. Millie HATED airport security. Something about taking off her shoes and having to walk through the metal detector sent her over the edge. She screamed & had to be carried through. But, after that…she was fine! They were awesome on takeoff, loved the flight (especially the pretzels), and were completely fine during landing. (if only they were this good the rest of the week on the rides!) We hopped on the Magical Express & rode to the Caribbean Beach Resort & got checked into our room. It was pouring down rain, so we decided to just take it easy and go to Downtown Disney. We quickly bought ponchos & started to do a little shopping. Mason thought the Lego store was pretty cool (the dragon in the photo above was made completely out of Legos…insane!!) We browsed souvenirs and took Millie to buy her dress to wear for the Cinderella castle. I was so excited about taking her to pick out her princess dress. It was going to be such a special mommy/daughter moment…at least that’s how I had it in my head. She threw a HUGE fit in the store when I asked her to try it on. We had to leave without a dress (magical moment-fail) to teach her that she wasn’t going to act that way the rest of the week. Mason bought some Iron Man toys, Millie bought a snow globe (hey, it’s vacation. I couldn’t let her not get anything!) We ate at Wolfgang Puck’s Express (soooooo yummy!) and called it a night! We needed to get some sleep for Monday–Magic Kingdom!
